Very few people on our planet have had the opportunity to be a part of a reindeer sledding expedition through the Russian North. Fewer still have visited the regenerative hot springs of the Samoyed people, a site they consider to be sacred. In 5 days, we will cross the taiga roads on reindeer sleds, wrapped in deer skin, riding towards arctic adventures. Even our menu will feature many venison dishes, although this will be optional. The local Samoyed people will be our guides, and we will learn how to mount and dismount reindeer, how to form them up and how to control a sled.

After the long trip across the frozen north, we will relax in hot saunas and (optionally) dive headfirst into an ice-cold creek afterward, surrounded by picturesque canyons and grottoes. It will also be possible to go ice fishing.

This is an incredible, one-of-a-kind arctic voyage that will remain in your memory for many years to come.

Stay adventurous forever!

Itinerary:

Day 1: We will assemble in the city of Inta and take a 2-hour snowmobile ride to the village of Petrunj, where we will dine on traditional native dishes. Later, we will meet the reindeer herders and set out for our lodgings for the night, wooden hunting cabins. We will have the opportunity to take photographs of, and with, the reindeer.

Day 2: We will travel 10 km to our destination: the healing hot springs. There, we will prepare a real Russian banya and prepare dinner. Then, we will travel over picturesque canyons, waterfalls, and grottoes to reach an ancient Buddhist shrine. Opportunities for ice fishing will be provided when we return to camp. There will be opportunities for taking photos.

Day 3: We will saddle our reindeer and race across 15 km towards a reindeer herder’s camp, our sleeping point for the night. There we will be introduced to their traditions and daily life, and receive a master course on controlling reindeer sleds. We will sit down for a candlelit dinner before bed. There will be opportunities for ice fishing at the camp.

Day 4: We will return to the village of Petrunj through many kilometers of the tundra. We will have ample opportunities to enjoy the region’s northern beauty before we reach our destination, where a hot banya and a delicious dinner await us. We will spend the night in a traditional Russian log cabin that comes equipped with a fireplace.

Day 5: We will load up on our snowmobiles and return to Inta. There, we will visit a historical museum and board the train after saying our farewells to the fairy tale we just experienced.
