Mt. Kazbeg. Land of the great Alans. Of the beaten pass.

  • February 2020 - March 2020

PRICE 2500$

The experience of climbing Mt. Kazbeg through the northern Russian route will not leave any climber indifferent, new or experienced. This is a true mountaineering expedition, the climbers can only reach the summit by foot, without any lifting assistance. This route has a technical difficulty category of 2A. We will practice vertical crampon assent over ice walls and steep ice terrain, March for 8 hours through the snow daily, with a 25 kg load on our shoulders, over rough winter terrain with snow above our knees.

Overcoming all of these challenges will be worth it, however. This mountain is so breathtaking that those who have experienced this adventure even once say that Kazbeg stays in their hearts forever. To help celebrate our victory over it, Kazbeg provides us with open-air hot springs that we will be soaking in during our descent. In addition, this route passes through the historic region of Ossetia-Alania, home to the descendants of the Great Alans.

See you at the top!
